MokaIO · Archive Management

Archiva

Local-first Windows archive manager for opening, creating, extracting, previewing, editing, converting, comparing, and testing supported archives.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Archiva, a desktop archive-management application developed and published by MokaIO.

By installing or using Archiva, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Archiva provides tools for working with supported archive and compression formats, including features such as:

  • opening and browsing archives;
  • extracting files;
  • creating archives;
  • previewing supported content;
  • editing supported archive contents;
  • archive conversion;
  • search;
  • archive comparison;
  • integrity testing;
  • encryption-related functionality where supported;
  • other archive-management functions.

Feature availability depends on the archive format, operating system, installed components, application version, and whether a feature is available in the Free or Pro edition.

2. License to Use Archiva

MokaIO grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Archiva for lawful purposes, subject to these Terms and any applicable Microsoft Store terms.

You may not:

  • reverse engineer Archiva except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • bypass or defeat licensing or paid-feature restrictions;
  • redistribute Archiva as your own product;
  • use Archiva to violate intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, security laws, or other applicable laws;
  • intentionally use the application to damage systems, data, or networks.

3. Free and Pro Features

Archiva may provide both Free and Pro functionality.

Optional Pro functionality may be unlocked through a Microsoft Store purchase, including a Pro Lifetime entitlement where available.

A lifetime entitlement means access to the purchased entitlement according to its Store product terms. It does not guarantee that every future product, platform, separate edition, or unrelated MokaIO application will be included.

MokaIO may add, improve, reorganize, or discontinue individual features where reasonably necessary for security, compatibility, legal, or technical reasons.

4. Microsoft Store Purchases

Payments and Store licensing are processed by Microsoft.

Microsoft's terms, refund policies, account rules, regional availability, and payment policies may apply to purchases made through Microsoft Store.

MokaIO does not directly process or store your payment-card information through Archiva.

5. Your Files and Backups

You are responsible for your files, archives, passwords, encryption keys, and backups.

Archiva is designed to use safety mechanisms for archive modification, including transactional and verification workflows where applicable. However, no software can eliminate every risk caused by:

  • corrupted or malicious archives;
  • hardware failure;
  • operating-system failure;
  • power interruption;
  • disk failure or insufficient storage;
  • third-party software interference;
  • unsupported or unusual archive structures;
  • user error.

You should maintain appropriate backups of important data.

6. Unsupported or Read-Only Formats

Different archive formats support different capabilities.

A format that can be opened or extracted may not necessarily support creation, editing, encryption, repair, or another operation.

Archiva may intentionally disable an operation when the application cannot perform it safely or truthfully.

7. Password-Protected and Encrypted Archives

You are responsible for having the lawful right and necessary credentials to access encrypted or password-protected content.

MokaIO does not guarantee recovery of lost archive passwords or encryption keys.

8. Security and Untrusted Files

Archives can contain malicious or unsafe content.

Archiva includes protections intended to reduce archive-related risks, but you remain responsible for deciding whether to open, extract, preview, or execute files obtained from untrusted sources.

Archiva's ability to inspect an archive does not mean that the archive or its contents are safe.

9. Intellectual Property

Archiva, the Archiva name, user interface, branding, software, documentation, and original materials are owned by MokaIO or its licensors, except for third-party components governed by their own licenses.

Your use of Archiva does not transfer ownership of the software or MokaIO intellectual property to you.

You retain ownership of your own files and content.

10. Third-Party Components and Services

Archiva may include or interact with third-party software components and platform services.

Third-party components may be governed by their own licenses.

Microsoft Store and Microsoft Windows services are provided by Microsoft and are subject to Microsoft's applicable terms.

11. Availability and Updates

MokaIO may provide updates for compatibility, security, reliability, performance, or new functionality.

Some features may require a supported version of Windows or a current version of Archiva.

MokaIO does not guarantee that every legacy operating system, archive format variation, third-party integration, or hardware configuration will remain supported indefinitely.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Archiva is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

MokaIO does not guarantee that Archiva will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every archive, or able to recover damaged or inaccessible data.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MokaIO will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of or inability to use Archiva, including loss of files, profits, business opportunities, or data.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it will be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Termination

You may stop using Archiva at any time by uninstalling it.

MokaIO may restrict access to services or licensing functionality where required by law, fraud prevention, security, or a material violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect changes in Archiva, applicable law, Microsoft Store requirements, or MokaIO policies.

The "Last updated" date indicates the current version.
